Techcrunch is reporting that a Germany company called Neofonie is set bring out a tablet with seemingly directly targeted at Apple’s upcoming iPad.  Called, the WePad it is set to arrive sooner to German stores than its Apple counterpart and will be significantly cheaper than the iPad, says Neofonie CEO Helmut Hoffer von Ankershoffen.   It all seems like an early April Fool’s joke, but the CEO confrims that preorders and deliveries are planned for next month – it’s also up on the WePad’s Facebook site.

Here’s a direct comparison between the Wepad and what will be it’s biggest competitor, the iPad.  If this pans out, it would seem to be a significant entry into the iPad-killer category of devices!
